6/22/2019 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Saturday) at InsightLA Santa Monica Meditation Center (1430 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA, 90404)

Do you know the feeling of “Well, a part of me really wants to go to the party but another part wants to stay home?” “A part of me wants to be seen more and another part is afraid of that?”, ”A part of me hates my need to be a people pleaser.” ? The list is endless. Are you curious about what this is about? What the role and functions of these parts are and which part gets the say in the end?

Please join us for a half-day workshop to learn about Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS is a self-compassion based model of psychotherapy that offers a clear, non-pathologizing, and empowering method of understanding and working our human problems. IFS identifies and addresses our natural sub-personalities or parts. The aim of IFS is to achieve balance and harmony within the internal system by focusing on healin the wounded parts and changing the dynamics that create discord.

Mindfulness meditation is learning to be present with whatever is arising in our experience
with kindness, clarity and spaciousness. We learn to be aware of what’s happening instead of being lost in it. In this way, IFS and mindfulness work amazingly well together – or so we think!

In this 3 hour workshop we will introduce the IFS model in theory and practice. We will have time of theory introduction, guided meditations and explorations as well as small and big group discussions.

Having mindfulness meditation experience is not a prerequisite but highly recommended.
