Internal Family Systems (IFS) is at the forefront of a movement toward a more collaborative therapeutic approach that relies on clients’ intuitive wisdom. IFS offers a clear, non-pathologizing, and empowering view of human cognitive and emotional life and provides a dynamic therapeutic approach that allows both therapist and client to enter into a transformational relationship in which healing can occur.
Come learn why trauma expert, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, has written an entire chapter about IFS’s effectiveness in his latest book “The Body Keeps the Score”. And Interpersonal Neurobiology (INB) developer, Dr. Dan Siegel, has done workshops with IFS developer Dr. Schwartz on how IFS and INB gel so well.
Open to mental heath practitioners, dance and art therapists and body workers, students, ministers, mediators, meditation teachers, academic professionals, and those seeking personal and spiritual growth.
Through lecture, experiential exercises, and demonstration, participants will be able to:
• apply the basic theory and principles of IFS therapy
• enhance their practice to deal with client/their own “resistance” more effectively
• analyze their own “parts” and how they impact therapeutic work
